About this policy
This Cookies Policy applies to swiredigitalcentre.com (the "website"), operated by Swire Digital Centre ("SDC", "we", "us"). It explains what cookies are, which cookies we use and why, and how you can manage them. Where information collected through cookies is personal data, our Data Protection and Privacy Policy also applies, so please read the two together.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser when you visit. They let the site recognise your device as you move between pages or come back later, remember your settings, and gather information about how the site is used.
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or you delete them.
- First party cookies are set by the website you are visiting. Third party cookies are set by another organisation whose service the website uses.
Why do we use cookies?
We use cookies to:
- make the website work and remember the cookie choices you make;
- with your permission, count visits and see which pages are popular so we can improve the site.
We only use cookies that are not strictly necessary if you agree to them.
What types of cookies do we use?
Necessary Cookies
These cookies are needed for the website to work and to keep it secure, so they cannot be switched off. They remember your cookie choices. You can block them in your browser, but parts of the site may then stop working.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| sdc_cookie_consent | Swire Digital Centre | Remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask again on every visit. | First party | 180 days |
Performance Cookies
These cookies let us count visits and see which pages are used most, using Google Analytics. The information is aggregated and helps us improve the site. If you do not allow them, we will not know you visited.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique visitors by assigning a randomly generated ID. | First party | 2 years |
| _ga_<property-id> | Google Analytics | Keeps track of your session and the pages you view for our Analytics property. | First party | 2 years |
Targeting Cookies
Targeting cookies are set by advertising partners to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant ads on other sites. They are only set if you allow them.
We do not currently use any cookies in this category.
Embedded Google Maps
Our Contact Us page shows our office locations using embedded Google Maps. When a map loads, Google may set or read its own cookies on google.com, such as its sign-in cookies if you are signed in to a Google account. These cookies belong to Google and are controlled by Google, not by us. See how Google uses cookies.
How can I control or delete cookies?
When you first visit the website, a banner lets you accept all cookies, keep necessary cookies only, or choose by category. You can change your mind at any time using , which is also linked in the footer of every page. If you switch a category off, we delete the cookies we set for it.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; your browser's help pages explain how. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the website from working.
To opt out of Google Analytics on every website you visit, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Third party websites
Our website links to websites run by other organisations, including other Swire Group companies. Those websites have their own cookie and privacy policies, which we do not control and are not responsible for. Please check their policies before using them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when we change the cookies we use or when the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If the changes are significant, we will ask for your cookie choices again.
